The Legend of Hercules 2014 and In a new sword-and-sandal epic, Dwayne Johnson plays the mythological hero seeking vengeance for the death of his family. ''He has to kill a lot of people while keeping his loincloth down,'' says the actor, who sports a beard made of yak hair. 

When he asked the beard designer what part of the animal supplied his facial fuzz, Johnson recalls, ''he says, 'His balls.' I said, 'No wonder I feel comfortable.''' The star confirms he would love to reprise the role. One group hoping that he won't: male yaks.

Having endured his legendary twelve labors, Hercules, the Greek demigod, has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord.

Hercules Synopsis

Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ film Hercules, starring Dwayne Johnson, bows on July 25th. Based on Radical Comics’ Hercules by Steve Moore, this ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth, Hercules. The epic action film also stars Golden Globe Winner Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan and Academy Award®-nominee John Hurt.
